Schneider battery is the top priority in the maintenance of communication power system equipment

The normal operation of the power supply system is the foundation and guarantee of smooth communication. The objectives of operation and technical maintenance work are: to ensure the safe, reliable and stable operation of the power supply system and high-quality power supply; to automatically switch on and off, the closed-loop control is accurate and in place, the real-time accuracy of receiving instructions and return information; to ensure the service life of the equipment and reduce the comprehensive operation cost.


In the DC uninterruptible power supply system, the rectifier is the heart, the standby generator set is the key to improve the availability of AC power supply, and the storage is the basis of uninterruptible power supply. The basic requirements for the operation and maintenance of the battery are: to keep the battery in a fully charged state without overcharging, when supplying power to the main engine alone, it is necessary to discharge more than 80% of the rated capacity.


The batteries we are talking about here include basic power (12V, 24V, 48V) batteries, batteries, starting batteries of generator sets, etc.


Schneider valve regulated sealed battery has been widely used because of its outstanding features, but there are still some noteworthy problems in its manufacture and operation. It should always be remembered that although it is maintenance free battery.


Why Schneider battery is the top priority of communication power supply technical maintenance

From the analysis of Schneider battery's working status, imperfection, power failure statistics and many other aspects, the technical maintenance of the battery should be the top priority.


(1) If the host equipment fails, channel conversion, channel conversion and system conversion can be carried out to ensure smooth communication. Unless the CPU fails, the whole system will not be paralyzed. The communication host equipment requires DC uninterruptible power supply. If the battery separately supplies power to the host, in case of failure, the battery reaches the discharge termination voltage in advance. If the power supply is interrupted, all the equipment powered by the battery will stop working, resulting in a large area of communication paralysis; if the AC is interrupted, the ups battery fails, resulting in all the equipment using the battery When the billing system and computer system powered by the equipment stop working and the generator set starts, the battery fails and the unit cannot start. In a word, the characteristics of the communication system determine that the maintenance of the battery is the top priority in the technical maintenance work.


(2) Although Schneider valve regulated sealed battery has outstanding features, such as no acid mist escaping under normal conditions, it can be placed in the same room with the main engine, suitable for decentralized power supply, vehicle power supply, etc., there are still some unsatisfactory aspects in production, manufacturing, operation and maintenance. There are two kinds of APC valve regulated sealed batteries: one is the valve regulated sealed battery with ultra-fine glass fiber membrane; the other is the valve regulated sealed battery with colloidal electrolyte. They all use the cathode absorption principle to seal the battery. Therefore, there must be about 10% diaphragm gaps in the diaphragm of the APC battery. For the gel sealed battery, after the silicon sol is changed into gel, the skeleton should be further contracted, and the viscosity of the silica sol should be controlled at about 10, so that cracks in the gel will run through the positive and negative plates. The gap or crack is to provide the channel for oxygen to reach the negative electrode. The excessive electrolyte infusion in the production of AGM battery is not conducive to the reunion of oxygen in the cathode. If the electrolyte is too small, the internal resistance of the battery will increase. In the production of colloidal batteries, if the viscosity of the silica sol is too high, the amount of silicon added will be too large, which will cause the gel to crack too much and increase the internal resistance of the battery. Therefore, the valve controlled sealed battery is very strict to the production process requirements. Due to the gravity effect and the inability to add distilled water, the uniformity of electrolyte is poor, and the loss of water is an important factor in the early failure of VRLA batteries. So it has strict requirements for working environment, temperature, floating charge voltage and charging voltage.
